Acupuncture with E-Stim / Electricity
Service Description
Electro-Stimulation Acupuncture, or E-Stim, involves the application of small electrodes attached to the shafts of acupuncture needles. A gentle, pulsating electrical current is passed through the needles, creating a mild vibration that enhances the therapeutic effects of the treatment. This method provides a stronger and more continuous stimulus than traditional acupuncture and can affect a larger area beyond the needle insertion point. E-Stim has been shown to promote the flow of qi and blood, relieve pain, warm the muscles, and remove blood stasis (poor circulation or blockage). It is particularly effective in treating neurological disorders, chronic pain, muscle spasms, and paralysis. It is also widely used in sports medicine to support injury recovery and accelerate healing. Like traditional acupuncture, E-Stim often brings about a sense of deep relaxation or sleepiness, while some patients feel more energized afterward. Following treatment, we recommend resting and drinking plenty of fluids to support the body’s healing process. Acupuncture is widely recognized as a safe and effective therapy. At our clinic, we use only sterile, single-use needles to ensure the highest standards of safety and hygiene. Important Note: Electro-acupuncture is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, have a pacemaker, or have a history of seizures, epilepsy, heart disease, or stroke. Side effects are rare and typically mild, such as slight soreness or bruising at the needle site. Treatment includes: Acupuncture with E-Stim / Electricity and Infrared Heat Therapy. Cash rate (At time of service): $85 per acupuncture session. (If billing is required—such as through auto insurance, a doctor’s lien, or a legal settlement—the rate for acupuncture services will be adjusted and is typically higher to account for administrative processing and delayed reimbursement.) ----- For Medical insurance patients: Insurance coverage and rates vary depending on your specific plan and acupuncture benefits. We accept a variety of PPO and HMO insurance plans, as well as HSA and FSA cards. *Please note that most insurance companies (Kaiser, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Aetna, etc.) typically cover acupuncture for musculoskeletal pain conditions only, with a standard treatment time of 15 minutes. However, we generally provide up to 30 minutes per session. Any additional time is offered at the discretion and courtesy of the practitioner. Please contact us for more details.
