Acupuncture with E-Stim / Electricity

Service Description

E-Stim or Electro-Stimulation acupuncture is used to refer to the application of small electrodes that are attached to the shaft of the acupuncture needles. This creates a pulsating electrical current that provides a gentle vibration as it travels through the needles. Some unique advantages of this treatment, are due to its ability to create a stronger, continuous stimulus and affecting an area larger than the needle itself. E-Stim has been proven to promote the flow of qi and blood, relieve pain, and warm the muscles, removing blood stasis (a blockage, or poor circulation). This has yielded good results in the treatments of patient's with neurological diseases, chronic pain, spasms, and paralysis. It has also been commonly uses in Sports medicine for treating injuries and to stimulate quicker healing. Similar to the effects of regular Acupuncture, some patients may feel a sense of deep relaxation & even sleepiness. Others may feel energized after their treatment. After the treatment, it is advised that patients should relax and take it easy throughout the day. In addition, to drink plenty of fluids while their bodies are going through the healing phase. (Note: Electro-acupuncture is contraindicated for patients who are pregnant, experience seizures, have a history of heart disease, strokes, epilepsy, and those who has a pacemaker.) Treatment includes: Acupuncture treatment with Electronic - Stimulation and Infrared Heat Therapy. _______________________ Cash rate (At time of service): $85 Insurance rates: Varies on Insurance plans and Acupuncture riders. We accept various PPO and HMO insurance. We accept HSA and FSA cards. *Please note that most insurance company, ie. American Specialty Health (Kaiser, Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Aetna, etc.) only cover up to 15 minutes of treatment time. However, we generally provide up to 30 minutes per treatment. Any additional time granted is at the discretion and courtesy of the Practitioner. Please contact us for more details.
